The new cabinet: speculation mounts about who will get what

Speculation is mounting in The Hague about who will get the various ministerial jobs when queen Beatrix appoints VVD leader Mark Rutte to be the formateur – or prime minister designate.

The cabinet will have 12-members: the prime minister and 11 ministers, with the posts divided evenly between the VVD and Christian Democrats.
There will also be eight junior minister posts which will also be split between the two parties.
Geert Wilders, leader of the anti-Islam PVV, is not providing ministers but has had a hand in their appointment, the Telegraaf reports.
New ministries
Several existing ministries are being shaken up. Economic affairs, agriculture and innovation are being combined into a single super ministry which is likely to go to CDA leader Maxime Verhagen..
Transport, housing and the environment are also being merged to create a super ministry, which the Telegraaf says will be named Ruimte, which means space or room.
Piet Hein Donner, currently social affairs minister, is likely to move to home affairs to begin the process of slimming down the civil service and government apparatus.
Other names being keyed up for inclusion are VVD MP Fred Teeven (junior minister security), Edith Schippers (minister of health) and CDA chairman Henk Bleker (junior minister, agriculture)
