Grower creates Obama bloom

A Dutch flower company has developed a special white chrysanthemum and named it after new US president Barack Obama, reports the website of the Australian newspaper


‘We expect to sell 250 million Obama flowers in the next three years,’ Ton Griekspoor of Royal van Zanten in Valkenburg is reported to have told Dutch tv.
In the past Royal Van Zanten has created Reagan and Bush blooms. The Bush flower failed and was taken off the market quickly but the Reagan flower proved popular with over 500 million sold throughout Europe, the paper says.
