The Netherlands is the only western country where trust in business leaders and government grew in 2008, according to the latest annual survey by international PR agency Edelman.

Despite the financial crisis, 62% of the Dutch said they trusted business leaders and government, compared with a European average of 42%.
Confidence in the media fell however, with just 25% of the Dutch believing what they read in the newspapers.
