Gertjan Verbeek has left his post as trainer at Rotterdam football club Feyenoord, AD reports on Wednesday afternoon. It is not known if he jumped or was pushed, says the paper. The club itself denies the reports

It had become apparent over the past few weeks that Verbeek, who was in his first season with the club, had lost the trust of his team. Earlier this week the management board let it be known that the situation could not continue.
Feyenoord has had a disastrous season so far.The Rotterdam club is languishing in 12th place in the premier division, 22 points behind league leader AZ and just five points above the relegation zone.
