Social security fraud hits €63m
Social affairs ministry investigators (SIOD) rounded up 74 major fraud cases last year involving 266 people and 78 companies, according to the organisation’s annual report.
The total cost of the fraud is put at €63m, of which €30m involved fraud using false identities and €28m social security avoidance.
