Poor old Rita Verdonk. There she is, planning to let ‘the people’ decide her policies and she has already been forced to close down the interactive part of her website because of all the nonsense being placed on it.

The Rita Wiki is an integral part of Verdonk’s self-proclaimed new approach to politics. But, rather than come up with serious suggestions, the site was filling up with ‘swearing’ and disgusting photographs, the NRC reports on Monday.
The suggestions made on the site ranged from a ban on single beds because they stimulated childlessness to a 90% Dutch food quota on restaurant menus and the introduction of a Rita certificate of authenticity for approved products.
The section will be re-opened at some point with moderators to make sure only real suggestions get through.
After all, Verdonk’s real supporters have their own interesting set of ideas. This weekend the Volkskrant reported that a majority of those who say they will vote for her want the death penalty for murder, rape and terrorism.
And their solution to traffic problems? Turn all motorways into six-lane highways and get rid of the speed limit.
