Germany is top holiday destination
Germany has replaced France as the most popular Dutch holiday destination, says motoring organisation ANWB. Some 2.9 million holidays were spent in Germany in 2007 and the same number is expected for this year.
With 2.6 million holidays France was the favourite destination for years but was overtaken at the end of 2007.
America remains the most popular long-distance destination, followed by the Antilles and Canada. All three countries benefit from the current value of the dollar.
