Keyhole surgery safety at risk

Not enough attention is being paid to patient safety during keyhole surgery, according to the health inspectorate in a new report.


For example, there are no national guidelines on training staff in keyhole surgery techniques and 90% of hospitals do not have proper rules for maintaining equipment, the report says. Inspectors say they are seriously concerned about the situation.
