Police in Utrecht have appealed for witnesses to the shooting of a 54-year-old man by a police officer earlier this month to come forward. The shooting sparked several days of rioting in the Ondiep neighbourhood of the city and led to the area being sealed off for several days.

Police say the investigation into the shooting will take weeks, if not months, to complete.
