Social security claimants will face spot checks at home even if they are not suspected of fraud, junior social affairs minister Ahmed Aboutaleb told MPs on Wednesday. Aboutaleb said he planned to amend the law if judges ruled such visits were unlawful.

Last week a provisional judgement from a court in The Hague said inspectors could not visit single pensioners at random to check if they were illegally living as a couple.
