Salvage firm Smit set to double profits

Salvage and offshore group Smit Internationale is set to book net profit of some €75m in 2006, almost double its 2005 earnings, the company said in a preliminary statement. In particular, its towing activities in Rotterdam and Antwerp ports benefited from the strong winds last year, the company said.
