Fair upsets orthodox Kampen
The local council in the Bible belt town of Kampen has voted down the town’s mayor Jan Oosterhof after he gave licences allowing four fairground attractions to operate on the final day of the town’s maritime festival in April. Councillors say the mayor had not taken enough account of the importance of Sunday as a day of rest.
