Enough
Commercial TV station SBS6 was delighted to announce yesterday that it is to broadcast a new reality show on May 12. Its title? Nothing to do with pimping or skating but alas, yes, it is something to do with BN’ers – Dutch celebrities.
The latest offering from the programme makers who like to pander to the lowest common denominator is ‘Fighting with the Stars’ – in which celebrities are to take part in kickboxing matches against each other.
So who are the stars lining up for this bloodfest, sorry entertainment? Retired football players John de Wolf and Tjeu La Ling, Ruud (no surname) who won the first ever Big Brother show and DJ Paul Elstak.
Not one of these four characters could possibly be described as a star. One is only in the line-up by virtue of his performance in an earlier reality soap, another did quite well on Dancing with the Stars, a third happens to have just released a double CD and the last does not seem to have done anything much recently.
Is there any end to this rubbish passed off as entertainment? How Clean Is My House with the Stars? Extreme Makeover with the Stars? Holland’s Next Top Star? Sidelines would like to ship all the TV makers who come up with this nonsense to the desert island featured in ‘Celebrity castaway’ and leave them there for ever.
